Burg Bits: Capital Tacos expands, Casita hiring, Taco Crawl downtown

The Burg is delicious, so let’s taco ’bout it. Seriously, this city is replete with exceptional taco joints. You’d think we’d reach a breaking point, but you’d be wrong. Breakfast tacos in the morning, fish tacos for lunch and crispy taquitos for dinner — yea, that’s the life for us.

Capital Tacos to open 2nd St. Pete location

Feasting on delicious tacos is about to get a whole lot easier for residents near the Tyrone Square Mall. That’s because Capital Tacos, the Sunshine State born concept with locations across Florida, is set to open at 6802 22nd Avenue North.

They made a splash in 2018 with their debut at 5226 4th Street North. What are our go to items here?

The Big Kahuna. We have a penchant for fried fish, especially when it’s paired with Carolina gold salsa. The taco is stuffed with street corn, mango, pickled onion, dirty spice, lime wedge and cilantro.

The grilled Federale taco is nothing to scoff at. It’s tiger shrimp tossed in Texican BBQ sauce, with bacon, cilantro, spicy slaw, guacamole, toasted sesame seeds, and chipotle BBQ sauce.

An opening timeline is still TBD. Follow Captial Tacos on Instagram and Facebook for updates.

Casita Taqueria hiring for new location

Have you heard? Casita Taqueria is opening a THIRD location in the Burg at 2991 66th Street North.

The new restaurant should be open within the next few weeks. Casita owners posted on Facebook earlier this week that they’re currently hiring for front and back of house.

Those interested in a new gig can email contact@casitatacos.com for further details.
