The biggest video game tournament St. Pete has ever seen – literally – is coming this weekend. Coastal Creative and Unlimited Video Games are hosting the Inaugural St. Petersburg Video Game Tournament on Saturday, August 26, and they’re doing so on a 45-foot LED screen.

Taking advantage of the gigantic new 18X45-ft. LED wall the production company just installed, the festivities will take place in Coastal Creative’s massive event space at 2201 1^st Avenue South. There will be two brackets, one each for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Street Fighter 6, with multiple screens for each and championships taking place on the LED wall.

Tickets are available now. Entry is $40, and the prize for first place will be at least $1,000. In addition to the two brackets, Unlimited Video Games will have tons of games on hand for people to play between rounds, including several arcade classics. And if you just want to play around and watch the tournament, a $10 ticket gets access to all the side games while you can also watch the main action on the big screen.

This will truly be a spectacle unlike anything the Burg has seen, and we can’t wait to see that gigantic wall in action with some of our favorite video games.
