The streets of St. Pete were already home to scooters, slingshots, golf carts and bikes. Now, the city is welcoming vehicles dubbed “FUVs,” Fun Utility Vehicles. The all-electric three-wheeled vehicles will be available through Scoot Scoot Rentals beginning later this month.

Made by Arcimoto, the two-passenger FUVs have a top speed of 75 mph, 102 city mile range, 20+ cubic feet of cargo space, and a right-sized footprint that allows three to be parked in one space. The FUVs are described to be “ideal for fun micromobility and easy, clean transportation.”

Arcimoto is an electric-vehicle company based out of Eugene, Oregon, and the FUVs are the first vehicle they created. In addition to three other electric vehicles, the company is soon debuting a pure-electric utility pickup truck. St. Petersburg will become the ninth city where the flagship FUVs are available to rent, and the fourth in Florida.

Scoot Scoot Rentals does not yet have the FUVs available for booking, but expects to unveil the fleet soon. Currently available are slingshots, side-by-sides, scooters, golf carts, Range Rovers, Harley Davidsons and Jeep Wranglers.

Arcimoto excited to expand in Sunshine City

The company also has rentals available in San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Monica, Key West, Marco Island, Fort Lauderdale, San Juan Island, and Eugene.
