Small Batch Creamery showcases heavenly holiday ice cream this December

A new ice cream parlor and sweets shop opened this summer in St. Pete, and it has already gained a cult following as it continues to receive rave reviews. The locally-owned Small Batch Creamery, located at 5530 4th Street North, debuted at the end of June, bringing delectable scratch-made ice cream and baked goodies to the neighborhood.

This December – and especially this weekend – the ice cream shop is going all out with holiday-themed creations. New ice cream flavors include tantalizing treats such as peppermint bark, butter cookie crunch, brownie caramel swirl, grannie’s banana pudding, and Michael’s malted balls. This Saturday and Sunday, Small Batch is debuting even more holiday flavored cookies, brownies, chocolates, coffee and much more.

Offering artisan ice cream and “bakery quality” desserts like cookies and brownies, Small Batch Creamery is an eclectic, funky and welcoming spot. Ice cream is available by the scoop, bowl, cones, or as a milkshake, and their variety of flavors provide something for every palate. And for those really looking for something special, the ice cream tacos are a delight – a crispy, taco-shaped waffle cone filled with scoops of ice cream and your choice of toppings. The favorite among early guests is no surprise for Florida, as the strawberry ice cream has taken center stage. The handcrafted ice cream is made with real Plant City strawberries, giving a local touch and a fresh taste to the scoops of goodness. Small Batch Creamery’s list of rotating flavors has so far included options like Grannie’s Banana Pudding, Cafe Con Leche, Triple Peanut Butter, and the highly popular Brownie Batter Chocolate, among many more. They also offer multiple vegan flavors, helping to provide something for everyone.

Every batch is made from scratch

Chief among Small Batch Creamery’s priorities is the ice cream parlor’s commitment to freshness and quality. Ownership taste tested over and over until finding the perfect base. Every single scoop is made from scratch in small batches using an on-site mixer, complete with fresh ingredients added in to create the tasty flavors.

Sticking to their promise of “creating smiles one scoop at a time,” the ice cream shop is open seven days a week. Catch them at their listed hours of Monday-Thursday from 12:30-9:30 pm, and Friday-Sunday from 11:30 am – 10:30 pm. The friendly staff (and it’s often the owner behind the ice cream bar) will help anyone find the right flavor for them.

As part of their effort to be involved with the community, Small Batch Creamery also offers discounts for seniors and for students every Monday-Friday. “Golden Scoop Hour” offers a discount to anyone 55+ from 12:30-3 pm, while all students receive 10% off from 3-5 pm every weekday afternoon.

Small Batch Creamery is fully operational currently, but stay tuned for details on the official grand opening celebration coming later this fall. We’re told to expect a huge star-studded event, complete with giveaways, music, hot dogs, and plenty of ice cream. Follow them on facebook for more updates, and see even more drool-inducing ice cream pictures on the Small Batch Creamery instagram page.
