Own a piece of St. Pete Beach Theatre history, and help revitalize the venue

Exterior of a movie palace with a tall blue marquee, and a white facade. An empty ticket counter is visible.

The Beach Theatre Community Foundation is holding a sidewalk fundraiser to raise money towards the renovation of the historic Beach Theatre. It will take place on Sunday, April 10, during the Corey Avenue Sunday Market. Now is your chance to own a piece of Beach Theatre history! Hundreds of posters covering decades of theater programming are available. There is something for everyone!

Most are original theatrical one-sheet posters, unless otherwise noted. Most are in good to excellent condition; some may have wrinkles or tears on the edges. Standard movie posters measure 27″ x 40″.

St. Pete Beach Theatre has been in the area for more than 80 years

The first movie theater in Pinellas County to be equipped with sound and (perhaps most importantly) air conditioning, the theater has since become a beloved landmark for St. Pete Beach. Across eight decades, it presented the best in independent and international cinema, establishing itself as Pinellas County’s premiere arthouse movie theater.

What’s more, it stood as an anchor for the community, giving local artists a space to create and showcase their talent both on our screen and our stage, making lasting memories for generations.

“The theatre must undergo an extensive restoration which will include repairs to the roof and main auditorium, an expansion of the concession and lobby areas, as well as technical upgrades to provide stellar presentations for both films and live events,” write the team behind the Theatre’s revitalization.

“As was the intention when the theater closed in 2012, we have decided to operate the Beach as a non-profit organization, relying on donations and continued patronage to keep our doors open.” Those interested in donating can do so online.
