Prost! Oktoberfest season officially kicks off this weekend, along with all the wonderful festivities it brings. Here in St. Pete, there is no lack of activities planned over the next month, particularly as our bounty of breweries makes the holiday even easier to celebrate.

Whether you already have a closet full of lederhosen and dirndls, or you’re just happy for an excuse to eat pretzels and drink beer, there is something for everyone in the Burg this year. Grand Central Oktoberfest
Saturday and Sunday, September 23-24
Grand Central Brewhouse is hosting a massive two-day celebration in its beer garden all weekend, complete with live Oompah music, German food, traditional Oktoberfest games (and the less traditional Best Beer Belly competition), and a local vendor market, all family and pet-friendly.

Oktoberfest at Bayboro Brewing
Saturday and Sunday, September 23-24
We’ve long said Bayboro is one of the most underrated breweries in the Burg, and their Oktoberfest will bring live music by Apple Strudel Oktoberfest Band, Higher Standards, and Jazz Phools, plus delicious food specials, and tons of German beer.

4th Annual Oktoberfest at Gulfport Brewery
Saturday, September 30
Yet another must-visit brewery on the list, Gulfport Brewery + Eatery is home not only to great beer, but some of the best food you’ll find in town, brewery or otherwise, and this year’s Oktoberfest celebration is bigger than ever before, stretching all the way down Beach Boulevard.

Wheel Haus Oktoberfest
September 17-23
This week-long extravaganza will feature a special menu of German-inspired dishes, traditional German Festbier, and the transformation of The Wheelhouse into an Oktoberfest-style beer tent.

German-American Society Oktoberfest
September 29 – October 7, 5-10 pm on Fridays, 12-10 pm on Saturdays
Every Friday and Saturday for two straight weekends, the most authentic Oktoberfest celebration in town features traditional German fare, dances, imported Bavarian beers, and made-from-scratch German delicacies.

3rd Annual Piertoberfest
Sunday, October 1, 12-7 pm
The scenery is Florida, but the celebration is all Bavaria. Hosted at the St. Pete Pier, Piertoberfest is a gigantic Oktoberfest party complete with beer, games, live music, and tons of food.

Cage Brewing’s Oktoberfest and Grand Re-Opening Celebration
Sunday, October 1, 12-8 pm
As the Grand Central District favorite has undergone renovations and upgrades, the grand re-opening party is also an Oktoberfest celebration filled with tons of great beer, live music, tasty food, dancing, and good vibes.

Beer Fest at Old Northeast Tavern
Saturday, October 7, 2-7 pm
A neighborhood favorite, Old Northeast Tavern’s annual Oktoberfest celebration is back, featuring all you and eat and drink beer, wine and German food alongside the celebration.

Oktoberfest Beer Festival at Albert Whitted Park
Saturday, October 14, 11 am – 5 pm
Thousands will descend on the downtown waterfront for St. Pete’s biggest-ever Oktoberfest celebration, featuring tons of beer and breweries, live music all day, some of the area’s best chefs and food trucks, Oktoberfest games, a sprawling vendor market, and even a Volkswagen car with 50+ vehicles.

Okto-Bull-Fest at USF ST. Pete
Friday, October 20, 4-7 pm
the first-ever Bulls and Brews by the Bay will feature live music and an impressive selection of local craft brews, selected to honor the Brewing Arts program at USF St. Petersburg. Enjoy a pint or sip a glass of wine as you connect with other friends and supporters of the university.
