The 2022 St. Pete Valentine’s Guide

The 2022 St. Pete Valentine’s Guide

A couple at dinner

Whether your single, married, dating, or in that murky what-in-the-world-is-this phase, Valentine’s Day is a perfect excuse to treat yourself or someone else to something nice. From special gifts and fancy dinners to fun activities and great deals, the Sunshine City is full of fantastic options to make this Valentine’s your best one yet.

Naturally, this list doesn’t encompass everything happening in town. From prix fixe dinners to singles awareness parties, just about every business in St. Pete has something planned. Instead, consider this guide to be a source of inspiration for what you might like to do, as well as a strong collection of some of our personal favorites here at I Love the Burg.

Events

Valentine’s trolley tours with Star Trolley –Wednesday the 9th through Sunday the 13th, Star Trolley’s nightly blissful bites and bubbles tours take you to four different downtown eateries, including four alcoholic drinks, incredible desserts, champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and all food covered in the cost of the ticket. On the night of Valentine’s, the extravaganza tour includes a three-course meal prepared by Chef Michael, complete with drinks and desserts in a private venue.

Speed Dating and Anti-Valentine’s Party at Postcard Inn – If Valentine’s on the beach sounds kind of perfect, Postcard Inn has you covered no matter your level of romance. For the singles on the prowl, try the Stupid Cupid Speed Dating on Friday, February 11th. If celebrating your singledom is more your speed, try the Heartbreaker Hotel Anti-Valentine’s pool party on Saturday, February 12.

Comedy and art shows at Coastal Creative – On Saturday, February 12th, catch Black Hearts, an anti-Valentine’s art show showcasing all things decidedly unromantic. Or if you need a good laugh after Valentine’s, check out the Valentine’s-themed comedy competition on Friday, February 18th.

Make your own bouquets and cookies – Baked in the Burg is one of our favorite spots for sweet goodies, and on Sunday, February 13th they’re hosting a guided build-your-own bouquet and decorate-your-own cookies class. Come solo, bring a date, or get the whole crew involved.

Sew Your Soul – Let’s be honest, we don’t cross the bridge unless it’s for something special, but Valentine’s counts as a good enough excuse. Sew Your Soul is an art exhibit by Lucy Sparrow in which she has created an entire grocery store made completely of felt. You can buy individual items, but it’s worth the drive just to walk around and browse.

Wining and dining

Surf and turf at Hollander Hotel – February 11-14, The Hollander has one of the best dinner specials in town. The meal is meant for couples, but a particularly hungry table for one could have the time of their life with two eight-ounce prime filet mignons, four jumbo shrimp, grilled asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes and choice of dessert.

Dinner and drinks at Social Roost – Add some class and flair to your night out with a great meal and incredible cocktails in a setting that’s equal parts intimate and lively. And if you thought Social Roost was just about chicken, take a peek at Chef Susan’s 12oz. bone-in sweet tea brined pork chop and see what all the fuss is about.

Totally Tiki Tours – Anybody can have dinner and drinks by the water. But what about on the water? Book a tour for up to six people and spend two hours being driven around the Bay with the best views of the St. Pete skyline. Just pack whatever food and drink you want and hop on!

Red Mesa Restaurant – St. Pete’s classic Mexican restaurant, this 4th Street staple is a great way to have a delicious meal while avoiding downtown crowds and parking. And if you don’t mind Valentine’s celebrations while the sun is up, their Mexican brunch is one of the best brunches in town.

Specials at Sauvignon – Sauvignon Wine Locker and American Trattoria is likely already near the top of most Valentine’s wish lists, and with good reason. But beyond great quality and ambience, their deals are among the best in town. Get half-off glasses of wine from 4-6 pm Tuesday-Sunday, enjoy 50% off house-made pastas on Thursdays, and take advantage of half-off on any bottle of wine under $100 on Sundays.

Trip to Sommelier Hideaway – Never been to Sommelier Hideaway? Your Valentine probably hasn’t either, and nothing is more romantic than a new experience. Plus, you know, wine. Tampa’s Sommelier Hideaway has a massive rotating list of wines curated by the in-house sommelier, as well as delicious bites and charcuterie boards. This hidden gem is more than worth the drive.

Gifts

Pageboy – Our favorite new locally-owned vintage shop has an incredible array of wares you won’t find anywhere else. To make the deal even sweeter, Pageboy is hosting Love Fest from 12-2 on February 12, bringing in even more vendors and fun. It’s the perfect spot to find something perfect for the home.

Maison Glo – Want to give a gift that will have them glowing? Maison Glo is a group of skincare saviors providing incredible monthly skin care packages and routines to keep anyone in St. Pete looking their best every day.

Upstairs Boutique – A hidden gem on MLK, Upstairs St. Pete has an amazing array of gifts featuring home goods, seasonal décor, accessories and a one-stop shop for holiday hosting, or events at any time of the year.
